Another good thing about it is that it is situated opposite to the Flinders Street Station which is itself a view to watch. Royal Botanic Gardens- these gardens, the finest of their kind are situated south of the Yarra river, about 2 kilometres from the city. There are some 8500 species of plants spread in an area of 38 hectares. The Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden is a beauty to look at and along with it, the garden has a picnic spot and the Terrace Cafe.

The MCG and the National Sports Museum- the Melbourne Cricket Ground or the MCG is one of the world’s greatest cricket ground. No wonder a cricket ground is one of the best tourist attractions in the city which is the country’s sporting capital. You can go for a 75 minutes tour that will remind of some of the greatest sporting events that the MCG has witnessed and also incorporate the National Sports Museum, the Olympic Museum and the Australian Gallery of Sports. Right opposite to the MCG is the Melbourne park which is the host of the Australian Open tennis tournament every year in January. National Gallery of Victoria- the oldest public art gallery in Australia, the national gallery of Victoria houses some 70,000 masterpieces of art, both of the Australian origin and international too. It has two centres, one on the St. Kilda road that has the international collection and the other in the Federation Square, named as the Ian Potter Gallery that features the Australian art. It is famous for The Great Hall where the visitors are meant to lie down on the floor and see the stained glass ceiling. Docklands- situated at the waterfront, the Docklands is the most recent waterfront entertainment addition to Melbourne. The place is full of cafes and bars for a perfect party. It has the terrific Melbourne Star, the Etihad Stadium, the Icehouse and the Junior Wonderland amusement park. If you visit the place on a Sunday, you will also get to see an art and vintage market here.
