National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing administers and sanctions numerous auto racing sport events. It is family owned business venture. It was established in 1947-48 by Bill France Sr. In United States, NASCAR is the biggest authorizing body of stock car racing. The Nationwide Series, the Sprint Cup and the Camping World Truck Series are the three largest racing series sanctioned by NASCAR. It also manages the Whelen All-American Series, NASCAR Local Whelen All-American Series, Racing, and the Whelen Modified Tour. In about 39 states, NASCAR endorses over 1,500 races at 100 tracks.

The main headquarters of NASCAR is located in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 2000, all the rights to the nascar.com domain and the interactive rights were acquired by the Turner Sports Interactive company. The domain is rented through Network Solutions. NASCAR is the most popular and most viewed professional sports in U.S. Most of the Fortune 500 companies sponsor NASCAR as it has a huge fan following. The NASCAR Foundation supports many charity foundations.

NASCAR takes dedication, efforts, planning and sponsors. NASCAR drivers work hard day and night to gain points and ultimately win the championship one day. Big companies make huge investments in NASCAR to have their logos advertised on it.The NASCAR drivers are immensely talented. People and things change very fast in NASCAR. Over the last 60 years NASCAR has changed a lot.

The NASCAR sanctioned series are as follows

Sprint Cup: This is the highest level professional competition and the most popular and profitable series. In 2006 Sprint Cup there were about 36 races in 10 months. In 2008, Jimmie Johnson was the winner of the most recent series. He was also the winner of the 2006 and 2007 series. The premier series title was changed to the Sprint Cup Series in 2008. On the other hand the Chase for The NEXTEL Cup was changed to the Chase for the Sprint Cup. This was the merger of the NEXTEL and Sprint.

Nationwide Series: This is the second-highest level of professional competition in NASCAR. In 2008 Clint Bower was the most recent series champion.

Camping World Truck Series:  It is the third division of the NASCAR. In 2008, Johnny Benson was the series champion.
