Ajinkya spent two years at JP Morgan after completing his studies to gain experience in the corporate world. Ajinkya’s father invited him to the family business by email, stating that Ajinkya was welcome to be part of its expansion. “During my college days, many of the friends I had rode kinetic vehicles. I was proud of this fact. “I decided to dive into the business after receiving the mail,” says the 37-year-old. After completing the six-month course, he was hired by the marketing department. He traveled extensively in order to increase the number of dealers and was able to add 150 more to the existing dealer network. Products like MV Augusta Blaze, FSYM Flight, etc., were launched under his watch. Found under his purview were products like MV Augusta, Blaze, FSYM Flight, etc. He took charge of the kinetic engineering division between 2009 and 2015. This department began building auto parts.
Ajinkya says, “Continuous Reinvention has been a challenging task because we’re a company that is 20-30 years old and must deliver new products every season in order to stay ahead of the competition.” Ajinkya’s working style is similar to that of his father. However, unlike him, Ajinkya prefers to repeat the same task until he achieves perfection. His father was a technologist who innovated constantly. Ajinkya, on the other hand, believes that business should be all about new product creation. Ajinkya also has a number of collaborations in place, the most important being the Norton joint venture. Ajinkya says, “We would also like to launch a motorcycle between 300cc and 500cc.”
