As the father of one of the country’s wealthiest entrepreneurs, leaving the family and establishing your brand isn’t easy. However, Laksh Vaaman Sehgal, director, who is also the heir to Samvardhana Motherson Group, is one of the few who joined the family company and transformed the fate of an unprofitable British-based firm. He has not only proven his worth in the initial venture but also introduced the modern and traditional vision of the most successful. There are a number of books written about Sehgal, as well as his commercial plan. However, very few know his name.
In an exclusive interview with Entrepreneur India in the Ascent Conclave 2019, he shared his private life, helping us realize why he is the successful person that he is today!
To create something, what would it be?
Make all the mistakes and do the right thing because you won’t have the chance to repeat those mistakes.

Anything that serves my needs in that moment. I don’t think that I have any particular loyalty to anyone.

Take a moment to reflect, identify yourself, and keep going. Don’t give up.
If not an entrepreneur…?
I want to be the hermit of a mountain in winter and in the summer.
Most foolish advice?
Take a look at your work and earn rewards. It is important to do the most work and make the highest quantity of dollars. It blew me away. The fun is at work. If you don’t love the work you do and you don’t enjoy it, you won’t earn a great deal of cash anyway.
The most effective advice?
Many people offer excellent suggestions. It’s our responsibility to determine which one speaks to your needs and is most effective for you. One of them is, “Don’t worry much about what’s going to happen. Just do what you have to do and put in your best effort.”
The person you admire as an entrepreneur?
I’m not trying to choose anyone, just anyone who has truly built from scratch and built an enterprise. Everyone who has made companies that are employing people and offering jobs is to be applauded.

A message to young entrepreneurs?
Decide to try something new, and don’t fret about the outcome. Failure is a possibility if you end up stopping, but it’s not a problem when you continue to go. Find out how you can get over those hurdles. And if you are willing to put in the best effort, you’ll be successful.
