Ford Focus can be termed as a decent compact sedan that any person looking out for an economical car could purchase. Keeping in mind that it is a simple car expecting on road thrill is a bit too much. This car is a low cost maintenance and small budget people can safely go for this one.

Design and trim levels in the car

The Ford Focus is available in four trim levels and can be categorized under the sedan or coupe group. The basic trim is the Ford Focus S that comes with tilt steering wheel, 15 inch steel wheels, four-speaker audio system with an auxiliary jack and a fairly well performing air conditioner. The next trim is the SE version that again has 15 inch alloy wheels plus power accessories. The other features add to the dynamics of the car. Rear spoiler, upgraded stereo with six CD changer, foglamps, cruise control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Bluetooth and iPod integrated Sync electronics interface, leather wrapped steering wheel, interior customizable lights audio controls mounted on the steering wheel and a sunroof. The next trim is the SEL. It has got all the features that the SE trim has except for the spoiler and the sunroof. The added features in this trim level are 16 inch alloy wheels, better suspension, chrome interior and exterior finish, heated side mirrors, heated front seats and leather upholstery. Last but not the least the SES trim is more on the athletic side. It has got a more aggressive front look with 17 inch alloy wheels, dark chrome exterior, a very well performing suspension with a rear spoiler and nine speakers surround sound music system.

The Ford Focus has got a 2.0 litre inline four cylinder engine. This engine gives out maximum power of 140 horsepower and 136 pound feet torque. It has got a five speed manual transmission but a four speed automatic transmission is also available for the customer to choose from. The Ford Focus gives fuel economy of 24 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. The automatic transmission Focus zooms from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 9.7 seconds which is definitely not impressive.
